FROME: Just 20 minutes’ drive from The Manor is the charming and vibrant market town of Frome, with beautiful historic buildings, independent shops and an arty vibe. We love the artisan market on the Sunday of the first weekend of the month. www.thefromeindependent.org.uk

BATH: A handsome and welcoming city and well worth a visit. Walk to the magnificent Royal Crescent, see the Roman baths, Thermae Spa and find an array of excellent independent shops and restaurants. It is only 25 minutes away by car.

LONGLEAT: A fantastic day out for the family. It is an impressive Elizabethan country house set in 1,000 acres of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown. It has a wonderful large huge maze and safari park which is home to over 500 animals, including giraffe, monkeys, rhino, lion, tigers, cheetahs and wolves. GLASTONBURY TOR: One of the most famous landmarks in Somerset and well worth a visit. Visible for miles around, the Torr and distinctive terraced hill date back to Neolithic times while the tower is part of a church built in 1323.
