It is now officially the run up to Christmas and we are feeling festive in Holcombe.
It is that special time of year when we love preparing for our Christmas gatherings and experiencing a host of wonderful winter events in Somerset.
Here are our top 5 favourite Christmas events, all within easy reach of The Manor Holcombe:
1 - Christmas at Longleat
6 November 2021 – 3 January 2022
Experience a host of magical Christmas events at the magnificent Longleat Safari Park. From stunning illuminations and traditional carols to a unique Christmas tree show, it is a fantastic family day out. Why not visit Father Christmas in his woodland grotto by Santa train? 2 - Bath on Ice
12 November 2021 – 3 January 2022
One of the best Christmas events in Bath 2021 has to be the huge outdoor ice rink, complete with atmospheric lights and music. Get your skates on! It is a wonderful way to finish off a memorable day out in Bath, with children, teens or just adults. Here you find skates of all sizes and even special sled skates for little ones to ride on. Stop off at the convivial bar area for seasonal drinks and winter cheer. Get your tickets on their website.
3 - Glittering Glow Golf
12 November 2021 – 3 January 2022
Follow the glittering fairy lights of Bath’s adventure golf course for a unique and fun experience after dark. Special glow in the dark golf balls illuminate your game. A mulled wine or two at the Moguls Bar is not to be missed. Book your round in advance.
4 – Frome Christmas Markets
November and December 2021
The charming market town of Frome is just 20 minutes’ drive from The Manor Holcombe. It is the perfect place for a spot of Christmas shopping. Its bustling markets, every Wednesday and Saturday, are the best in Somerset. On 26th November, there will be a special A little Night Market which kicks off with a lantern parade at 4pm. On 4th and 18th December, head to Cheese and Grain for the Christmas gift market and delicious street food. More information here.
5 - Foraged Festive Decoration Making
7, 8, 9 December 2021
Make your own festive decorations in a creative workshop at The Newt in Somerset. Under the guidance of a floriculturist and heritage gardener, you forage through woodlands and gardens to gather natural materials, before using them to create your own unique Christmas decorations. A delicious lunch in the Garden Café is very much part of this experience. Book here.
